Please accept my condolences on the loss of James. I know he will be dearly missed.
Death is an enemy to many. It is unnatural and not part of our Creator's plan. May you continue to seek comfort from Jehovah God and His promise to swallow, eradicate this enemy forever.
Isaiah 25:8
"He will swallow up or do away with death forever and will wipe away the tears from all faces"

Uncle Jim was unique.....one of a kind! I loved that he was a junk man! I eagerly anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the house on the Eastern Shore and his Laurel home. I was fascinated by the variety of "stuff" he had ALL around both homes.
I was so fascinated by it all, that years ago I wrote a rough draft of a children's chapter book in which Uncle Jim's Laurel home is the setting. The main characters are a young boy and his grandfather, who is a junk man. Contrary to the neighbors complaints about the yard, the boy comes to realize that each object had a story and it wasn't mere junk, rather his grandfather's treasures. Treasures that gave him opportunities to converse, share, learn a great deal from, and spend quality time with his grandfather. What starts out as an attempt to clean up the yard, ends up being the best of summers for the boy. By the end, he and his grandfather create an amusement park for the boy's hamster using various contraptions found in the junky yard. The yard gets tidied up, but more importantly, the grandson learns who is grandfather really is and his heart overflows with love and appreciation for his remarkable grandfather.
Obviously, Uncle Jim had quite an impact on me!!! I absolutely loved visitng with him. His love of family always made me feel welcome.
I have no doubt he is surrounded by a multitude of treasures in Heaven, including being reunited with loved ones. Best of all, he is with the Lord!

Dear Jenny,

My prayers and thoughts are with you right now, big time. I have only fond memories of Uncle Jim at various family reunions and gatherings. I loved that when we met throughout the years that he always recognized me, and excitedly called me, "Virginia Lea!" in a jolly manner.

With love and sincerest sympathy,
-cousin Virginia

Always larger than life, always an enigma...city-born-and-raised, he transformed himself, quite proudly, into a simple "redneck" whose sorrows were matched by his joy and love for all of his family. He was one of my favorite people of all time. Jim, I wish you the eternal peace you so deserve. I love you.

Jenny, you really are our Angel of Courage. Your devotion to your mom and dad will be rewarded. I love you.
